There are two LEDs in this brick. Additionally there is one series resistor (2.2KOhm) used per piece that protects the LEDs. They are optimated for 2mA. Both of the resistors are grounded. That´s why you can connect them directly to the Arduino Nano Brick outputs. Additionally the signals are transfered to the end.
